This is the 2016 yearly chart, created by Shanghai Renxing Company (上海任性文化传播有限公司), known in short as the Renxing Score, a measure of a celebrity’s digital media influence.
How to read this chart?
The chart is plotted along these two axes. Y-axis: Level of concern - what people are concerned about and want to see, hear, get to know, and pay for X-axis: Public awareness - what is seen and heard over social media channels
The company uses major Chinese websites like Baidu, Sina, and other major fan forums, on top of street surveys and 29 different measures to collate this data and create this chart. It is renewed every half a year, and the latest one for 2016 has just been released.
Where is Yixing on this chart?
Yixing is in the blue area, to the right of this chart, in the area they’ve labelled “National Celebrity”. Their description of celebrities in this area reads: “Having experienced huge waves in the entertainment circle, and through the weight of many works, they are positioned in a palace, and their names have successfully become synonyms for the “nation” in the public eye.“
Public awareness: Yixing scores ~108 (with only about 10 celebrities scoring more highly than he did) Level of concern: Yixing scores ~71 (out of a maximum scale of 100)
For interest, in an earlier mid-2016 version of this chart released, Yixing was in the same area of the chart. This area is described as "having a large number of fans, a good foundation of recognition, and explosive public awareness; similarly the attention paid to them is at a similarly high level”.
